Nvidia and AMD release new drivers just for Battlefield 3, Rage

27 September 2011

If you’re planning on playing Battlefield 3 on PC, then IT’S TIME TO GET THAT MOMMA’S RIG OF YOURS INTO BATTLE ORDER, PRIIIIIIIVATE PYLE!

Most importantly, that means updating your video card drivers, and wouldn’t you know it?; Nvidia and AMD are both coming to the war-party on this one by launching new drivers just for the game. Hooah!

Nvidia’s drivers are already out, claiming to increase performance by “by up to 38%”, compared with previous versions, while AMD is prepping a new driver launch for later this week.

“The 285.38 beta drivers are also the ones to get if you’re planning to play id Software’s Rage next month,” notes Nvidia’s Andrew Burnes.

“The long-awaited game is the first new intellectual property from id Software in many years and marks an evolution of the studio’s design style, previously having made linear ‘corridor shooters.’ With fantastic graphics, a lengthy storyline, co-op, and multiplayer, Rage is a feature-packed release that offers fantastic value in a time of ever-shorter games,” said Burnes, who is presumably looking to make a move into id Software’s PR department.
