DICE deploying 64-player Caspian Border map into Battlefield 3 beta

7 October 2011

It’s the Battlefield 3 beta’s last hurrah this weekend, and it’s going out with a bang – DICE has announced they’ll be dropping the ginormous 64-player Caspian Border map back onto their public multiplayer servers sometime this afternoon.

Obviously, this only applies to PC gamers, you lucky fishies – who said nobody does anything nice for you?

“After analysing the data from our first round of closed Caspian Border tests, we have great news for participants in the Battlefield 3 PC Open Beta: the DICE team has decided to bring back Caspian Border for the beta’s final weekend and conduct an open large scale test of the 64-player Caspian Border map,” writes community manager Ian”crash7801”  Tornay, over on the Battlelog forum.

The usual stuff about beta-unfinished-doesn’t-reflect-blah-blah-blah applies.

“Please keep in mind that as this is beta we will be stress testing our servers. As such, users may experience crashes, network instability and outages as we roll out and configure servers and network utilities.”
