A few days ago, a lovely rendition of the Skyrim theme tune hit the internet, using various lyrics from the in-game music.
The song was performed by Judith de los Santos, a musician from Monterrey, Mexico. While she is therefore primarily a Spanish musician, the song is performed in English – and a rather hauntingly beautiful rendition it is too.
This music, of course belongs, to Bethesda – with the tune and lyrics composed by Jeremy Soule. Hopefully the Bethesda corporate shark tank can be distracted with enough Christmas chum to keep them from serving a takedown notice on this video.
For those (PC gamers) as enamoured by the song as us at the MyGaming offices, there’s now a mod available to replace the Skyrim menu music with Judith’s rendition. Head on over to Skyrim Nexus to check it out – Skyrim intro music replacement.
For more info on the artist, fire up Google translate and head over to her website, Malukah.com, where you can get hold of a free version of the recording.
Malukah appears to be another name she performs under, and her album can be found on iTunes – Judith de los Santos – All of the Above.
