Valve has launched a new support system for subscriptions on its Steam game distribution and launching platform.

The Steam Subscription service allows game developers and publishers to manage and charge gamers directly within the Steam client.

Previously, subscriptions would have to be dealt with in the game’s client or through the developer’s external website. The new service now allows gamers to deal with their subscriptions without leaving Steam.

Steam customers can “sign-up for, manage, cancel or renew game Subscription Plans at any time, online directly through Steam.”

Valve has launched a Steam Subscriptions support page which gives more information on the new features.
