A man by the name of Adam Foster created a mod for Half Life 2, entitled Minerva, which was incredibly well-received and became immensely popular when it released episodically in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Foster’s mod was so impressive that Valve, the developers behind the Half-Life series, actually went and captured (okay, hired) Foster for their own diabolical plans.
“Like any of my projects, it started off small, but rapidly grew far, far, bigger,” said Foster, adding that he “accidentally acquired a job in the process”.
Foster began working at Valve Corporation, and has been hard at work with the Valve team to prepare Minerva: Director’s Cut for Steam.
The Director’s Cut isn’t different in terms of content, but features “tweaked visuals, bug fixes, better puzzles and all kinds of subtle improvements. Nothing majorly new, just old stuff tidied and polished for this re-release.”
The mod has a reputation of being “Valve-quality” and lives up to the entire Half-Life experience.
