Mojang’s Scrolls trailer unveiled, open beta imminent

Mojang, developer of Minecraft fame, is at work on its next game, Scrolls, and has announced that the game will be going into open beta on 3 June 2013.

Unlike Minecraft’s block-building focus, Scrolls takes the form of a card-battling game, which features some RPG elements.

The game will be coming to PC and Mac  for $20 (R194).

Scrolls was originally conceived and developed by Jakob Porsér, who worked alongside Minecraft progenitor Markus Persson, for a game that was currently missing from the market. The game uses the Unity engine.

The developer has also released a new trailer for Scrolls. Check out the video below:
