Mojang, developer of Minecraft fame, is at work on its next game, Scrolls, and has announced that the game will be going into open beta on 3 June 2013.
Unlike Minecraft’s block-building focus, Scrolls takes the form of a card-battling game, which features some RPG elements.
The game will be coming to PC and Mac for $20 (R194).
Scrolls was originally conceived and developed by Jakob Porsér, who worked alongside Minecraft progenitor Markus Persson, for a game that was currently missing from the market. The game uses the Unity engine.
