Steam to allow game-sharing?

Steam is speculated to be in the process of experimenting with an option that will allow PC users to share games on its service.

According to a post by a NeoGAF user, some new lines of code were discovered, which hint to the idea that users may be granted the ability to loan out games and receive them back.

“SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicense_Title” “Shared game library”

“SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_OwnerText” “Just so you know, your games are currently in use by %borrower%. Playing now will send %borrower% a notice that it’s time to quit.”

“SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_BorrowerText” “This shared game is currently unavailable. Please try again later or buy this game for your own library.”

The code could essentially refer to any number of commands, although NeoGAF sleuths have been known to spot things in Steam codes before new features are actually announced, making it plausible.
