Fable III coming to PC

24 May 2010

Microsoft confirmed over the weekend that Fable III will be released on PC as well as Xbox 360. It was previously assumed that Lionhead had abandoned the desktop platform in favour of the Xbox 360 (at least as far as Fable is concerned), due to Fable II being released exclusively for the console.

Rumours of a PC release began doing the rounds last week, and it turns out that they were true.

Like the console release, Fable III for PC will hit shelves “sometime before Christmas.” Microsoft will be releasing the game to retail, as well as its own Games on Demand service for Windows. This means that you will not see Fable III on Steam, or any other PC based digital platform.

The US retail price for the PC release is $49.99 (R375), as opposed to the console version which will retail for $59.99 (R450).
