Local Darksiders PC delay confirmed

9 June 2010

PC gamers will have to wait a little longer to get their chance to play the console hit Darksiders: Wrath of War on their preferred platform. The title was originally scheduled for a June release in South Africa and around the world, but many international retailers have since changed their release dates to September.

Whilst the international gaming press is scrambling to contact THQ for confirmation on the release schedule change, MyGaming has contacted local distributor Ster Kinekor for comment. Product Manager Howard Lonstein states that the release date had been pushed back due to the upcoming E3 event. Ster Kinekor now has the game scheduled for a July release in South Africa, but no specific date was given.

Darksiders: Wrath of War is an action adventure which was praised for its tight combat systems, gorgeous comic book style graphics, intriguing storyline, and open world roaming which was a slight departure from the linear norm of most action adventure titles. According to Lonstein, Darksiders was Ster Kinekor’s number one selling console game in South Africa during January and February.
