Worms Reloaded hits PCs in August

30 July 2010

The original Worms titles took the artillery genre and ran with it, generating a huge fan base for the series and its lovable invertebrates. The Worms series has sold in excess of 25 million copies over its 15 year lifespan, across almost every console possible. On Thursday 26th August 2010, Worms will be returning to its birth platform; the personal computer.

“Worms Reloaded has been a labour of love for the team given the legacy of 2D PC Worms titles. It has been almost 10 years since the last 2D game was released on personal computers,” said Martyn Brown, Business Development Director at Team17.

“In bringing Worms Reloaded to PC, we’ve reintroduced so much of what gamers loved about the good old days, and it’s fitting that it is also the first Worms game we’ve self-published since the early games. We are very much looking forward to supporting the game through the community on Steam as well as our own Facebook page,” Brown continued.

Worms Reloaded sports a large number of new additions to almost every facet of the gameplay experience, such as a new currency based customization system. There are over 60 single-player missions (including the new Warzone Campaign and Bodycount Mode) and 45+ plus weapons spanning the entire Worms series. A full featured landscape creator is also included.

Fans can now pre-order Worms Reloaded via Steam and receive bonuses including a 10% discount, 24 hours early access to the game and exclusive in-game items to enhance one’s chosen team.

A new Worms Reloaded trailer has also been released via Youtube so interested gamers can have a taste of the mayhem to come.
