British indie developer Zombie Cow Studios, in association with Channel 4 television, has released their action packed edutainment platform game, Privates. Players will assume the role of John “Jack” Sterling as he leads the rather gormless condom helmeted “Foxtrot Sqaud” in an assault against a disease ridden vagina. The valiant team will come across a variety of sexually transmitted diseases, parasites, and spermatozoa as they venture forth.
Dan Marshall, Zombie Cow founder, believes that the game promotes safe sex and condom usage, and has been written along the guidelines provided by the British national curriculum.
The game is divided into five campaigns and at the end of each players will battle against a particularly nasty boss variant of an STD. Although a tasteless subject, Zombie Cow has done a brilliant job of injecting their particular brand of British humour into the title. The fully-voiced script and cutscenes will provide a laugh a minute, and the gameplay, whilst action packed, also delivers its fair share of humourous encounters.

Early reviews have been mostly positive, but have mentioned some technical problems causing crashes. The system requirements are a bit vague, but apparently a relatively decent Windows PC with a Shader v2.0 capable GPU is required. A system on par with an Xbox 360 is the guideline.
The website download links are proving a bit finicky as well, with some people having to right click the link and ‘Save as.’ Some users have reported a slow connection to the download server, but this may be due to the volume of interested gamers trying to grab the title. Battling through the technical difficulties may be a fair price to pay for a free game bold enough to go where no game has gone before.
