StarCraft II achievements borked

24 August 2010

StarCraft II players will have noticed when logging in today that they were unable to view their achievements, and that their achievement scores seemed to have been reset to “0000”.

Furthermore, players are reporting blank portraits where custom achievement portraits should be.

After noticing complaints in the SCII forums, I logged into the game to check if my account was affected. I can confirm that earlier today I was unable to view my portrait or achievements, and that my achievement score was reset to 0. Later on accounts were reportedly restored, before going down once again with the same problems.

Checking Battle.net profile details in a browser reported everything was in order, so seemingly the problem is isolated to the in-game display.

A Blizzard representative posted the following in the forums:

With regards to the issue, our Network Team is actively looking into it. Unfortunately I am currently unable to provide you with an official ETA. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
