R1000 up for grabs in September PolarfluKe SCII comp

26 August 2010

MyGaming originally bumped into PolarFluKe organiser Matthew Merks at the launch of StarCraft II at BTGames. He told us about how he was busy getting an official StarCraft II league up and running, and since then, he has managed to do so quite successfully.

The first PolarfluKe competition since the game came out of beta attracted 86 players, and a total of 500 games were played over 2 days. AMD provided 5 CPUs, and Afrihost gave away 6 10GB prepaid ADSL accounts as prizes.

The winners of the event, in order from first to fourth: Richard “ANGRYAFRICAN” West, Travis “AsIfImTrying” Weedon, George “Kreeflewer” Bence, and Barry “Dreamer” West. All are top ranked South African players.

It is anticipated that the next event will be even bigger.
