Civ V mod tools now available

30 September 2010

Firaxis’ latest iteration of the iconic Civilization franchise has been out for almost a week, and as promised, a full mod tool kit is now available for free via Steam. To download the mod tools, simply navigate to the “Tools” section in your Steam library, where you can find and download the “Sid Meier’s Civilization V SDK.”

The mod tools will supposedly allow gamers to modify a wide variety of aspects of the game, from customized gameplay mechanics, to user created campaigns. 2K Games has also created a Civ V wiki  which will be populated with various guides and tips for modding the game.

Civ V has a built in mod manager which players can use to browse and use various user created modifications.
