Microsoft has begun selling Windows 10 USB drives

Microsoft Windows 10 USB

As of August 18th, Windows 10 had already reached over 53 million devices, and by the end of August that number was 75 million.

That’s a staggering growth, a lot of which comes down to the many issues users have had with Windows 8, pushing them to adopt a supposedly superior operating system.

But perhaps the most important factor in Windows 10’s growth is that it’s available for free to anyone with a genuine copy of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.

That said, there are still a good deal of PC users without the opportunity to score Microsoft’s latest operating system for free.

It’s either that or they aren’t all that interested in obtaining Windows 10 just yet – it’s not without its problems. Their plan: to adopt the system once the bugs and privacy issues have been ironed out.

It’s a great idea, one in which we preach ourselves, but it may mean missing the window in which the OS is free.

So for all of those above, minus the free adopters, Microsoft is of course selling retail discs of Windows 10. They’re also, however, selling USB 3.0 flash drives that hold the OS.

Microsoft - Windows 10 USB Drive - Home and Pro

We’ve known for some time now that Microsoft had intended to release their OS via flash drives, and it’s great to see it finally happening.

According to the website Akiba PC Hotline, the USB drives come in two variants: Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro, both of which allow for the user to install the OS as either 32-bit or 64-bit.

The drive, itself, is fairly sleek and should make for a much more portable, handy and hardy solution than discs.
