Blizzard doesn't know how StarCraft II will end

25 October 2010

Speaking at BlizzCon over the weekend, Blizzard’s Chris Sigaty had this to say when asked if the game’s story had been penned to completion:

“Not really, no…Even things we thought we knew…we’re making pretty significant changes and still figuring things out.”

StarCraft II is being released as a trilogy. The first game, “Wings of Liberty” dealt with the Terran campaign, and the next game “Heart of the Swarm” will tell the Zerg’s side of the story. The final release, Legacy of the Void, will give players the opportunity to play as the Protoss.

Blizzard let fans down a few weeks ago when it announced that the next StarCraft II release will most probably not be released in 2011. This is due to the fact that the actual content and mechanics of Heart of the Swarm still have not been finalized.

Heart of the Swarm will not only introduce a new single player campaign, but significant changes will also be made to all three races in multiplayer.
