Windows 7 has been out for just over a year, and naturally, Microsoft is already planning its next major operating system release. According to a Microsoft release roadmap, its next major release is scheduled for 2012, and is tentatively being called Windows 8.
Windows 7 managed to restore our faith in Microsoft, after the mess that was Windows Vista. Although it was technically a release update, it managed to fix many of the flaws that plagued Vista. With Windows 8 being billed as a major release, we can expect a more thorough reworking of the current operating system structure.
However, will it be able to pull the majority of users over from Windows 7, considering just how well it has been received.
