Play-Asia gives “Social Justice Warriors” the finger

Play-Asia issued their April Fools prank today, but it was slightly more pointed than others we have seen.

Announcing the “SafeGames initiative”, Play-Asia’s new project teases the site’s recent critics by “taking into account the precious feelings of every single person, even if they themselves have no actual vested interest in the game”.

Taking to Twitter, the company set out its “new mission statement” in full:

The hoax announcement was directed towards several complaints Play-Asia had received regarding the upcoming Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, after they lambasted its developers Team Ninja for not bringing the title to the west.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 broke sales records when it released in Japan earlier this month. There is currently no scheduled release outside of Japan and several Asian markets.
