A new Fear Effect game – titled Fear Effect Sedna – will arrive on Kickstarter on 12 April 2016, Eurogamer reports.
The game will not be a triple-A game, and is instead embracing an indie approach to development. Fear Effect Sedna will be heavily inspired by Shadowrun Returns, the indie success developed by Harebrained Schemes.
Fear Effect Sedna is being developed by Sushee, an independent game developer, and Square Enix has granted Sushee access to the necessary content required to develop a modern Fear Effect title.
The new Fear effect game is not a remastered version of any of the classics, as it takes place after the events of the previous games.
Sushee aims to develop Fear Effect Sedna from a fresh perspective, minimising the negative characteristics of the former titles in the series and delivering engaging gameplay inspired by the collection of indie titles that have successfully emulated classic game concepts.
