Steam users will soon be able to buy games with Bitcoin.
This follows confirmation on Steam’s private developer forums and via Steam Database.
Steam won’t be accepting Bitcoin payments from users directly. Rather, they will accept monetary payment from an external payment provider who will convert Bitcoins into dollars for Valve.
Developers and publishers will continue to receive regular payments and no additional action is required from their side.
This could also prove to be another interesting workaround for users who wish to bypass their local currency inflation.
