Bethesda announced today that DOOM – a remake of the classic first-person shooter that defined the genre – has been released for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

DOOM was developed by id Software, who have expanded upon the original mechanics of the classic title and created many features, including a specialised SnapMap level designer and modern, competitive multiplayer.

“At its core, DOOM is about powerful guns, crazy demons, and fast, relentless gameplay.  We believe that fans of the original and new players to the franchise will enjoy all that DOOM has to offer and we can’t wait for everyone to finally get their hands on it,” said id Software.

DOOM was not pre-released to reviewers, so expect a delay before reviews for the game start appearing.

DOOM is priced at R799.00 on Steam and R999.00 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox Stores.
