Orena has announced the Overwatch Champions Ladder, a three-season local Overwatch tournament with a total prize pool of R30,000.
Orena has partnered with Blizzard, Megarom, and SteelSeries to offer players a R30,000 across three separate seasonal ladder competitions.
The Overwatch Seasonal Ladder will be available for both PC and PlayStation users and will include three seasons throughout the year, each offering a prize pool of R10,000.
Below are the Seasonal dates for 2016:
- Season 1: 13 June – 1 August
- Season 2: 8 August – 3 October
- Season 3: 10 October – 5 December
Teams may enter the ladder at any time during a Season – but entering earlier is recommended, as players will have more time to secure their spot in the top 4.
At the end of every Season, the top four teams will compete for a prize pool of R10,000.
Teams consist of 6 players and games will be played according to a best-of-3 format. Read the full rule set here.
Games will be streamed on Twitch.tv with commentary from some of the best shoutcasters in South African.
