Overwatch is set to implement its Competitive Play game mode by the end of June, but PC players eager to get a taste of competitive Overwatch can do so right now.
Blizzard has launched a Public Test Region, which players can opt into via their Battle.Net launchers, allowing them to help test new features that are not yet implemented in the base game.
Competitive Play is now available on the Public Test Region, meaning that players can test out the feature before it is implemented in the main game.
To access Competitive Play, following the steps below to join the Public Test Region:
- Restart the Battle.net desktop app.
- Navigate to the Overwatch tab on the left-hand menu.
- Select “PTR: Overwatch” from the REGION/ACCOUNT drop-down menu.
- Click “Install” to begin the installation process.
- Once the PTR client is installed and updated, click “Play” to begin!
Players have to be at least Level 25 in order to access Competitive Play, as the game mode is aimed at serious competitors and uses an advanced matchmaking system.
