AMD has partnered with 2K and Firaxis in order to unlock the full potential of AMD Radeon graphics cards in Civilization VI.
AMD announced that Civilization VI will feature full support for DirectX 12, Asynchronous Compute, and Explicit Multi-Adapter.
The implementation of DirectX 12 is good news for gamers with newer graphics cards, as Polaris and Pascal GPUs show a noticeable performance increase using the newer API.
Although AMD has partnered with Firaxis and 2K to implement these technologies, Nvidia users should also benefit from increased performance and efficiency.
Gamers can expect Radeon graphics cards to deliver highly competitive performance in Civilization VI, as recent implementation of Asynchronous Compute displays big improvements for Radeon cards, thanks newer API features.
“We’re thrilled to bring our leading DirectX 12 hardware and expertise to bear in the next installment of the Civilization franchise, which has long been adored by gamers for its intoxicating mix of beautiful graphics and hopelessly addictive gameplay,” said AMD.
