Three Warhammer Online servers are being put out to pasture – the US realms of Iron Rock and Volkmar and the EU realm of Carroburg. Mythic has indicated that there are plans in place to migrate players and guilds to existing servers.
Iron Rock and Volkmar will move to Gorfang, and Carroburg will move to Drakenwald. To facilitate these transfers, Mythic explains that they “will be enabling the multi-realm ability for [Gorfang and Drakenwald]. This allows accounts to have both Order and Destruction characters on the server and increases the character limit to 20. There will be an 8 hour lockout when switching realms on the server.”
The Mythic team explains this decision: “The game play experience of our customers is something we highly value. We don’t make changes like this lightly. A lot of metrics and analysis accompanies this type of decision. We feel that these changes will help to ensure that server options continue to facilitate that best RvR experience out there.
