Sony and ESL bring competitive gaming to the PlayStation 4

20 October 2016

Sony has partnered with ESL to introduce a new Tournaments feature to the PlayStation 4.

This feature will allow players to participate in tournaments across a variety of supported games.

The first Major tournament will be for NBA 2K17, and will run from 27 October – 26 November, with Major Cup rounds occurring every Saturday.

The top three finalists of the tournament will receive a prize pack which includes a number of PlayStation accessories.

A PlayStation Plus subscription is required in order to enter a tournament for any game, and you will also have to create or link an ESL account before registering for the tournament.

Tournaments currently only support 1v1 matches and can be located under the Events section on the PS4 system menu.
