Machinarium coming to PSN

28 March 2011

Indie dev Jakub Dvorský’s lovely little point ‘n’ clicker Machinarium is now officially on its way over to PSN, and scheduled for launch “later this year”. The game has already been something of a sleeper hit over on Steam for a while now.

It’s not, however, ever coming to XBLA. “Bringing it to consoles is a lot of hard work and a lot of hassle with companies,” explains Dvorský. “We were already refused by Microsoft to bring the game to Xbox. They weren’t interested because the game was already released for Mac and Windows, and Microsoft demanded it as part of an exclusivity deal. We’re not interested in Microsoft anymore.”

And while he’s busy not being interested in Microsoft, he’s also busy with three new titles – Osada, a sort of interactive music video featuring “Czech psychedelic country music”; another two other adventure games, Botanicula and Samorost 3 (the first of which is currently available and free to play online).
