PlayStation 4 sales cross 50 million mark

Sony announced on 6 December that the PlayStation 4 had officially passed 50 million units sold.

This was helped by strong demand during the year-end holiday season confirmed the Japanese company.

The PlayStation 4, which went on sale in late 2013 is currently Sony’s fastest-selling game console.

For reference, this means that the PS4 is just shy of the PlayStation 2’s lifetime sales figure of 155 million – the best-selling console of all time.
