Popular PC and Xbox exclusive coming to PlayStation

4 July 2022

Sega has announced that Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will be coming to PS4 on 31 August 2022.

The title will be bundled with the base game, and New Genesis adds a new graphics engine, enhanced character models, a new multi-weapon system, and a “wide-open battlefield” with changing times and weather.

Additionally, Sega explained that character creation and avatars will be compatible between Phantasy Star Online 2 and New Genesis. This will include weapons, units, mags, emotes, Star Gems, and Arks Cash.

However, Levels, EXP, skills, and currency affecting the game economy are not transferable.

The long-running MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 was originally released to PC in Japan in 2012, before its debut in the West on PC and Xbox One in 2020.

The game will be free-to-play and cross-platform compatible with PC and Xbox, with fully localised text and character voices in English.
