Robert Morrison, who worked on The Last of Us Part 1, has responded to fans calling the upcoming PS5 remake for The Last of Us Part 1 a cash grab due to it being listed at full price.
He stated that it isn’t a cash grab as it’s a project that has received the utmost care and attention to every detail possible.

Morrison’s Tweet has garnered a fair amount of support from fans of the series on Twitter, with many indicating they’ll be picking up the remake.
However, others pointed out that it was never a question of quality or attention to detail but the game being listed as a full-price title with no discounts to those who own the original versions.
While remakes of games are known to be sold for full price given the work required to produce them, it is understandable why some fans are discontent.
The PS5 version of the game isn’t its first remake but its second, as the game was also released for PS4 – both within a relatively short period of time when compared to other remakes.
As such, fans who bought the game full price on both consoles may feel somewhat cheated at being charged full price for a game they’ve already purchased or have bought twice.
The PS5 remake of The Last of Us Part 1 will likely, however, draw in new fans of the series, and as such, a full price is an understandable choice.
How this discontent over the price will influence sales is uncertain, but given the vast support for the first of the series’ two games, it’s likely to due well.
