Industry insider Jeff Grubb has claimed that Sony has lost all confidence in Saber’s Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake.
The remake of the classic RPG was first announced in 2021, and after extensive development issues, it seems Sony has given up hope of it being released.
This comes from Jeff Grubb, who noted in a Tweet on X that from what he knows, Sony wants nothing to do with the remake anymore.
However, he did clarify that Saber still seems committed to the project, which is reason enough for some hope for the title.
The Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic remake was originally being developed by Aspyr; however, in July 2022, it was announced that it had been delayed indefinitely.
This came after Aspyr fired its art director and design director following demo gameplay shown to Sony and Lucasfilm was deemed unsatisfactory.
Aspyr would later be removed from the remake entirely in August 2022 and was replaced by Saber Interactive.
Despite this disruptive development, Saber is determined to see the game released.
