Do you have a PS3? Do you plan on buying Assassin’s Creed: Revelations?
If you answered “yes” to these two questions, I have great news for you.
Ubisoft has announced that, due to some “special partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment”, launch day copies of the game will include a copy of the original Assassin’s Creed as a bonus freebie.
It’s not clear at this point if it’s on the disc, or a download token for the PSN Store.
According to Ubisoft SA representative René Fraser, this offer will be available locally, and applies to the standard PS3 game, as well as the collector edition. Get those pre-orders in, people!
Fraser said that the AC1 bonus will be available only with their first shipment of orders arriving in SA. So those not intent on pre-ordering can walk the fine line of availability. While unable to reveal exact stock figures, Fraser said that those gamers picking up the PS3 version soon after its launch are likely to get the AC1 goodie.
If you’ve not yet made up your mind about which version to get, Fraser confirmed that locally the game will be available in two flavours – the special launch edition and the collector edition. The totally awesome Animus Edition (detailed here) is exclusive to Gamestop in the US.
Collector Edition
– The Collector box: break the Assassin seal to unveil its contents.
– An Artbook featuring 50 pages of illustrations and concept art related to the game.
– Original game soundtrack.
– Assassin’s Creed Embers Movie: an animated short film.
In-game content
– Explore the prison of legendary Vlad the Impaler, the scourge of Constantinople who inspired the myth of Dracula. Seek out the hanging cell of the infamous leader to retrieve his personal blade, a deadly close quarters dagger capable of dispatching any foe.
– Play as two additional multiplayer characters: The Crusader & a new Harlequin revamped with a Constantinople flavour: the Ottoman Jester.
