First PS3 Slim local price revealed

19 August 2009

Just a day after the PS3 Slims’ existence was officially confirmed by Sony, the first local pre-order has been posted on Wantitall.co.za.

Wantitall.co.za, a local online store which exclusively imports goods from overseas, is currently advertising the Slim for R4225. In comparison Sony announced at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany yesterday that the Slim would retail internationally at a price of $300 (R2400) and would ship at some point in September.

Currently the Wantitall.co.za website is not showing a release date for the console and there is no confirmation as to when customers will receive their order although Justin Drennan of Wantitall assures that “you will get your Slim before they land in South Africa”.

Drennan added that the order is being processed through pre-order on Amazon.

“Amazon is concerned about stock levels in the US so each person can only order one console.”
