PS3 update 3.1 now available

The much hyped Playstation 3 firmware update version 3.10, which will bring integration with social networking platform Facebook to the console, is now officially available.

By linking a Playstation Network account to a Facebook account users now have the option for their PS3s to automatically update their Facebook status feed with game updates including trophies earned and Playstation Store activity.

The update will also allow game developers and publishers to include specific criteria within titles to be posted to the users Facebook profile while gaming.

According to the official Sony PS blog “This is just the beginning of our integration with Facebook and we are looking forward to adding new features enhancing the experience in future updates.”

Additional updates include a revamped photo section, a reorginasation of the friends list and a number of bug fixes found in firmware update 3.00.
