Sony has announced an optional PS3 Firmware update via the PlayStation Blog .
Update 3.15 will implement two main features.
Minis
Update 3.15 will include an emulator that will allow PS3 owners to play bite sized downloadable games called “Minis”. Minis are typically designed for PSP, but Firmware 3.15 will allow PS3 owners to join the fun.
PS3 data transfer
As its name suggests, this feature will allow gamers to transfer their entire PS3 profile onto a new PS3. This means that those who decide to upgrade to the PS3 Slim can easily transfer all their save games, updates, videos etc from their old console to the new one.
The update will be available “very soon”.
