Lead designer at Polyphony Studios Kazunori Yamauchi has announced that of the 950 different cars that will be driveable in the upcoming racing simulator Gran Turismo 5, there will not be a Porsche.
The omission of the classic sports car has been blamed on “licensing issues”.
Yamauchi mentioned that there will be a wide variety of cars available to drive in the game, and that they will include hyrbrids and electronic cars.
He went on to state that GT5 in its current build is a completely different game to GT5 Prologue or any other GT game before it for that matter. “It’s really got our soul in it.” Said Yamauchi.
The PS3 exclusive is now anticipated for a late 2010 western release after the Japanese release has been delayed and is now expected around June.
