God of War III will run on 720p natively

19 January 2010

Following a slow trickle of news in recent months Sony Computer Entertainment has come forward to give more technical information regarding upcoming PS3 exclusive God of War III.

Jeff Rubenstein, Social Media Manager of Sony Computer Entertainment America, revealed yesterday on the official Playstation blog that the anticipated title will run natively at a resolution of 720p with upscaling support for 1080p.

In addition Examiner reports that game director Stig Asmussen recently revealed to Arabic gaming website N4GA that the game will have a variable frame rate of 30 to 60 frames per second depending on the gameplay.

This lays to rest several rumours that have been circulating regarding video specifications for the next instalment in the God of War franchise. The game itself is due to be released internationally in March although no official date has yet been given.
