The official Playstation Blog has revealed that the first downloadable content package for recently released action thriller and PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain will be released to all players on the 1st of April.

Entitled ‘The Taxidermist’ the package will bring an additional chapter to the back story of Heavy Rain “and features one of the main characters from Heavy Rain, journalist Madison Paige, on one of her early leads from her investigation into the Origami Killer” said the post.

“In a similar manner to the unique, cinematic gameplay style of Heavy Rain, you will play Madison, and be presented with a number of tense situations and decisions, as she digs further into the case, which of course, will determine one of many different outcomes.”

Released in late February, the Quantic Dream developed interactive drama title received highly favourable reviews and has arguably opened up a new genre for inclusion in the gaming market.

The Taxidermist will be available for $4.99 (roughly R35) upon release.
