Twisted Metal PS3 bound

17 June 2010

In-case you missed our full round up of Sony’s E3 keynote address, they announced a new Twisted Metal game for PS3.

Series creator David Jaffe took the stage during Sony’s presentation, following a reveal trailer featuring the franchise’s sycotic clowns and signature over the top automobile bound arcade action.

It has been ten years since we saw a Twisted Metal game, and a PS3 version feels well overdue. Jaffe managed to pull together the majority of the series’ original development team, and plans to develop a truly worthy sequel to one of Sony’s most successful early franchises.

Players will be able to battle it out using a variety of vehicles, including cars, bikes and helicopters. A wide range of weapons will also be on hand, from sniper rifles to chain saws.

The multiplayer is looking promising, and a number of its modes are playable at E3. I will be getting some hands on time and reporting my findings later today.
