Sony has closed off the first day of E3 action with a press conference packed with games, new apps for their next-gen console, the announcement and pricing of PlayStation TV, and a whole lot more.
Some of the highlights in the games department was: the announcement that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be coming to the PS4; The Last of Us Remastered lands on 30 July 2014; Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End being shown off for the first time; seeing gameplay from The Order 1886; Mortal Kombat X, Far Cry 4, and Batman: Arkham Knight; Little Big Planet 3 being premièred; Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’s new trailer officially shown off; new exclusive title: Bloodborne; Infamous getting standalone DLC; a Dead Island 2 trailer; and so much more that it literally will not all fit in this post.
Sony also débuted PlayStation TV – a micro-console that will allow you to stream PS4 gameplay to your TV and play PS Vita titles on your big screen with a Dualshock control. PS TV is set to retail for $99 (around R1,000).
In other hardware news, Sony revealed an all-white PS4 console which will be bundled with Destiny. PlayStation gamers will be the first to access the game when Destiny’s beta launches on 17 July 2014. For those who can’t wait, you can access the alpha version of the game and give it a spin in the mean time.
On the app front, Sony announced that YouTube will be coming to the PS4, and gamers will be able to directly upload gameplay videos to their channel.
Plus, there is a Ratchet and Clank movie in the works.
