Microsoft made a splash at E3 by announcing the new Xbox 360 “Stealth”. Sadly, it was not accompanied by a price cut, which would have seriously stirred up the market.
Sony has responded with 3 new PS3 models, but don’t expect anything as drastic as a complete redesign. For now, the three new models are only available in Japan, but according to conceivablytech they will be making their way to western audiences at some unspecified time in the future.
A new 160GB console which comes in either charcoal black (current colour), or white replaces the current 120GB PS3. The third new PS3 is also charcoal black, and packs a 320GB harddrive, effectively replacing the 250GB model. All new models feature WiFi 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity, as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.
The new models are optimistically expected to surface in the US and Europe alongside the launch of the PlayStation Move in September this year.
