We have a go at PC gamers now and again about how much money they spend on their favourite pastime, but a recently purchased limited edition PlayStation 4 by a Sony fan makes the Master Race seem financially conservative.
The limited edition PS4, which celebrates 20 years of PlayStation, sports the original PlayStation Grey and comes packed in a commemorative box. Only 12,300 were made, and this was one of the motivations for a shopper on eBay spending R174,000 to secure one.
As you can see from the pictures below, she is a pretty thing, but for that kind of money you could have bought a Yamaha R1 and crashed into a wall instead. That, or build your own Large Pixel Collider.
The name of the seller is only listed as Technologysupp.
“Though the item did sell, I had to inform my customer that we were actually going to get the console in late December, contrary to the dates posted in my listing [December 9th to December 13th],” he said.
The buyer had already sent the full amount via PayPal. “Money is in the bank. Sent him an eBay invoice with the grand total and was paid immediately via PayPal. No questions, doubts or anything,” he added.
That guy must be a hardcore PS4 fan.
