PlayStation Network down

7 January 2015

According to reports and PlayStation’s Twitter feed, the PlayStation Network is down. Again.

The team at PlayStation has confirmed that some players are unable to use the service, and its engineers are working on resolving the problem.

A short gaming session last night (6 January 2015) saw me unable to log into my PSN account, with a “we are performing maintenance” message popping up.

The US PlayStation support page also indicated at the time of writing that the network was experiencing heavy network traffic.

For those of you who are wondering whether Lizard Squad are involved, there is no Twitter activity from them to suggest a DDoS attack.
