According to Naughty Dog’s and all-round famous voice actor Nolan North, a sequel to The Last of Us is in production.
North is well-known for his role in Uncharted’s Nathan Drake. He was recently asked if he was working on any Naughty Dog projects following Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
He recently said, “For now, [Uncharted 4] is the last one, I know they’re doing The Last of Us 2, but my character in The Last of Us… untimely demise.”
North is obviously talking about his The Last of Us character, David, the leader of a group of survivors in the game.
However, Troy Baker, another famous voice actor and Joel in The Last of Us, has said he “knows nothing” about a follow-up to the game.
Although Baker did discuss his thoughts on a potential sequel.
Baker had this to say, “I don’t know if we’re going to do another one or not,” “If we do, I trust Neil [Druckmann, creative director] and Bruce [Straley, game director], and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told.”
Both Druckmann and Straley are currently in charge of development for Uncharted 4.
After the release of The Last of Us, Druckmann has been quoted as saying there is a “50/50” chance for a sequel.
Whether a The Last of Us sequel will make it to the light of day is difficult to ascertain at this point of time.
We just think it would be very cool to explore that world again, and mow down a few zombies.
