Previously available only as part of a $399.99 PlayStation Move / Eye / Sports Champions bundle, Sony has now started shipping out standalone 320 GB PS3s in the States.
“The digital distribution trend is undeniably gaining momentum, and we here at PlayStation are committed to providing you with the hardware you need to support as much downloadable media as possible,” says Sony. “The 320 GB PS3 system, which will retail for $349.99, has the largest storage capacity of any next-gen console and will continue to provide the same high-quality gaming that PlayStation fans have come to expect. For only $50 more, you get twice the storage capacity of the 160GB system.”
No word yet on when / if / how / why this will be available locally, but in the meantime, you could just, you know, buy the regular 160 GB SKU, and pop a 1 TB HDD into it.
