Footage of an upcoming remake of Final Fantasy XII has been released on Square Enix’s Japanese Youtube channel.
Titled Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, the game appears to be a direct remaster of the PS2 game with updated visuals and sound.
An insider on NeoGaf said the upcoming title would feature the following:
- Based on FF XII Zodiac job system.
- Background, character models, fonts and all 2D parts are higher resolution.
- Movie scenes are higher resolution.
- Uses current-gen graphics.
- 7.1 surround sound, higher-quality audio.
- Japanese and English voice acting.
- Option between original BGM and newly recorded BGM.
- Shorter loading times, auto-saves, and turbo mode.
The title appears to be a PS4 exclusive (although we wouldn’t rule out a PC release) and will release some time in 2017.
