The PlayStation NEO will release by the end of the year: report

20 June 2016

The PlayStation Neo could still release before the end of this year, according to a report from Eurogamer.

This follows an E3 during which Microsoft announced two new consoles, the Xbox One S and Project Scorpio.

The article’s author, Richard Leadbetter, expressed concern that while both the PlayStation NEO and Xbox’s Project Scorpio will be orders of magnitude more powerful than their predecessors, their big selling point is 4K visuals and not much else.

Several sources have indicated to me that PlayStation Neo launches this year, despite its E3 no-show.

If that is the case, it’ll be interesting to see how developers utilise its resources, and whether 4K really is the focus. And we can be equally as sure that Microsoft will be watching just as intently as it gears up for its own next-gen roll-out.

Will you buy a Playstation NEO if it releases later this year? Do you care about gaming in 4K? Let us know in the comments below and in our forums.
