Sony has announced that an open multiplayer beta for Killzone 3, will launch on the European PlayStation Network on February 3, and run until February 15.
In the beta players will be able to enjoy a map called Frozen Dam, which is set around a massive, erm, frozen dam.
The beta will unlock a few gameplay modes; Guerilla Warfare, which is basically team deathmatch (16 players); Warzone, which is a unique game type revolving around 5 mini-missions (24 players); Operations, which incorporates 5 linear missions (16 players), and Botzone which is a free for all deathmatch where the player goes up against 15 AI controlled enemies.
All three unique game types will be playable offline against AI.
Killzone 3 is set for release on February 22, and is boasting support for 3D as well as the PlayStation Move. Killzone 2 remains one of the PS3’s best first person shooters, making the sequel a highly anticipated project.
