If you own a PS3, you’ve got two bits of big news on your six.
First up, DICE has announced that they’re deploying the public beta for Battlefield 3 on the PSN from 29 September – 10 October.
Get drafted by going over to the PlayStation Store, looking up “Battlefield 3”, and selecting the demo download. Starting a war has never been so easy.
If you redeemed one of those Medal of Honor: Limited Edition or Tier 1 Edition Online Passes, you can get yourself into the beta on 27 September. Check your e-mail inbox from an invite from DICE.
“The Open Beta is your chance to play Battlefield 3 early, try out our free social platform Battlelog, and give your valued feedback directly to those of us at DICE,” writes DICE product manager, Tommy Rydling, over on the official PlayStation Blog.
“You participating in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta means that you are not only helping us load test the servers, but more importantly, helping us fine-tune the final components of the multiplayer game.”
Next up, Sony has managed to secure a timed-exclusivity deal for all Battlefield 3 DLC, bringing that stuff to PS3 gamers a week ahead of everybody else. Oorah!
That starts with the release of the Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion, scheduled to launch “later this year”.
