The Last of Us has already received a shining review (despite breaking embargo), but there are still some question surrounding its multiplayer; and Naughty Dog has finally pulled back the curtain on the game’s online component.
The multiplayer of The Last of Us is called “Factions”, and features two game types – Supply Raid and Survivors.
Both game types feature up to four players per team and can be played across seven maps.
The first game type, Supply Raid, requires teams to fight for supplies, while Survivors calls for players to eliminate one another in a last-man-standing style fight, with eliminated players sitting out until the end of the round.
Players can craft and heal with supplies found in multiplayer matches.
There are four load-outs available – assault, sniper, support and stealth – and characters are also customisable with different clothing and gestures, along with boosters and perks that can be unlocked.
